When a picker is swivelling at the end of every pass, the joint housing has to stay firmly fixed to the frame, and the P2 Golf Products Picker U-Joint Retaining Plate mounts on the opposite side of the picker frame to clamp and secure the U-joint barrel in position so the L-joint remains seated correctly inside.

By locking the barrel against the frame and preventing movement at the mounting point, it helps maintain a controlled, smooth pivot action and reduces the looseness that can develop under vibration and repeated turning. It is a practical service part to replace during joint inspections when wear, distortion or missing hardware starts to compromise joint stability in daily range picking.
